1.1: WORKSPACE OVERVIEW

In Qanban, a workspace is the foundational organizational unit that allows teams or individuals to group and manage their projects, tasks, and resources in a centralized and structured way. Workspace enables a single Qanban account to support multiple business units or subsidiaries. Portfolio, program, and project are grouped within a workspace. Here’s a breakdown of what it typically encompasses:

    A workspace can host multiple projects, making it easier to manage tasks, timelines, and progress for different initiatives. It can also host multiple portfolios and programs for larger organization.
  2. Team Collaboration:
    Workspaces are designed to bring team members together in one place, enabling them to communicate, share files, and collaborate effectively.
  3. Task Management:
    Tasks and workflows within a workspace are typically visualized using boards, lists, or Gantt charts for better clarity and tracking.

    You can assign specific roles (e.g., Admin, Member, Viewer) to control who has access to what within the workspace.

1.2: SETTING UP A WORKSPACE

Step 1: Sign up

1.Visit the Qanban website and click on try for free

2 . Fill in your email address and password
Once you’ve clicked continue,go to your email address and verify your email.

3. After that you will need to key in your company’s details.
Once you’re done,click submit and you will be led back to the main page.Sign in and you will be led to the workspace creation page

Step 2: Create your workspace

1.Once signed in, you’ll be prompted to set up your workspace.Key in the name of your workspace and describe your workspace.

2. After you’ve set up your workspace, select your company size by choosing one of the following options (Picture on your right):

Small company :Is suitable for a team of 1-30. By creating your workspace with small company, you will be given a project and team to manage. It is recommended to start with this option to simplify the management of your team and project.

Medium company :Is suitable for a team of 30-100.By creating your workspace with medium company, you will be given a project, program and a team to manage. With this option, you can create multiple projects under a program.

Large company : Is suitable for a team of 100 and above.By creating your workspace with large company, you will be given a project, program, porfolio,department and a team to manage. This is the most advanced option for large company to manage complexity of project management.

You will also be given the choice to select Kanban or scrum methodology.

For business value and effort, you get to select either optional or mandatory.

Step 3: Start Managing Your Projects

  1. Access your workspace from the dashboard.
  2. Begin creating tasks, ‘tracking’ progress, and collaborating with your team.

HOW TO CREATE MULTIPLE WORKSPACES?

STEP 1
Click onto the logo and it will lead you to the workspace creation page.

STEP 2

Click onto the new button and you will need to name and describe your workspace. Once that is completed, click save.
